Robert Stuhlmann, a newly elected AfD district administrator in Thuringia, Germany, has passed the “Democracy Check” of the State Administration Office and may remain in office. According to Thuringia’s local election law, district administrators must pass the “Democracy Check” to ensure they are committed to the democratic order and the free democratic basic order of the German constitution. Stuhlmann was the winner of the district election in the Thuringian district of Sonneberg, making him the first AfD candidate to provide a district administrator in Germany.
