Madonna Battling a Severe Bacterial Infection: Tour Postponed as She Receives Intensive Care
Madonna, the 64-year-old pop icon, has been hospitalized for several days due to a serious bacterial infection. Her manager, Guy Oseary, announced that she is still under medical care, but her health is improving and a full recovery is expected. Madonna’s “Celebration” tour, which was scheduled to begin on July 15 in Vancouver, Canada, has been postponed until further notice. The tour was expected to pay homage to Madonna’s more than four-decade long career and included 84 concert dates. A new start date for the tour has not been announced yet.
The type of bacterial infection that Madonna contracted has not been publicly disclosed. Madonna’s manager, Guy Oseary, only mentioned that she developed a “serious bacterial infection” that led to a several-day stay in the ICU. Bacterial infections can occur in different parts of the body, such as the skin, gut, lungs, heart, brain, or blood. Examples of bacterial infections include food poisoning and sinus infections. Madonna’s health is improving, and a full recovery is expected.
