Panathinaikos One Step Closer to Champions League Group Stage

Panathinaikos are one step closer to the Champions League group stage after drawing Ukrainian side Dnipro-1 in the third qualifying round. The Greek champions will face Dnipro-1 in the first leg on August 2, with the second leg to be played on August 9.

Panathinaikos are the only Greek team to have ever won the European Cup (now the Champions League), and they will be looking to make their return to the competition’s group stage for the first time since 2010.

Dnipro-1 are a relatively new team, having only been founded in 2011. However, they have made good progress in recent years, and they reached the Europa League group stage in 2021-22.

The match between Panathinaikos and Dnipro-1 is sure to be a close contest, and it will be interesting to see which team can progress to the Champions League group stage.
